Emily's  Necklace Project
To Help Toward  Restoration & Preservation On
JOHN'S  MODERN  CABINS
on Route 66 in Missouri

A Chunk of Route 66

Many Options of Beads & Stones

A Chunk of Route 66
!  YOUR HELP IS NEEDED  !

Emily Priddy, a journalist from Belleville, IL,

is making these necklaces to help the owners of John's Modern Cabins with preservation and restoration to the property.  The owners had talked of tearing the cabins down and when Emily heard about it she contacted Mrs. Ross, the owner, and spoke with her about other options.  Mrs. Ross explained that the insurance was too expensive and the fact that many Route 66 travelers stop there and might get hurt didn't help the cost. But after several people sent letters to Emily to show Mrs. Ross the family have since discussed restoring the sign, possibly two of the Cabins and maybe more.

If you would like to share in this Missouri Route 66 Preservation and Restoration project  so we all can still stop at JMC's and take photos on our Route 66 trips, please email Emily and get your necklace with a chunk of Route 66 in it or the Chain of Rocks.

Here's DESIGN info you will need to send Emily:

1. What lengths do they need to be? Give me actual lengths and I'll have an easier time getting something that fits and looks like you want.
2. What kind of fragments do you want? Plain ones are just regular price; ones with part of the yellow paint from the fog line on them cost $2 extra; and ones from the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge cost $5 extra.
3. Do you want a bead necklace or a hemp macramé necklace with wooden beads on it for decoration?
4. If you want a bead necklace, do you want plain beads, or do you want some little semiprecious stones worked into the design? If you want semiprecious stones, it's $5 extra, and I have the following stones:

Rose quartz (clear with a pink tone)
Something that looks like rose quartz except it's pale blue instead of pink
Malachite (dark green)
Snowflake (black with white splotches)
Leopard (brown and orange and beige splotches)
